The big problem with electric cars…
It’s an infrastructure problem. A solvable infrastructure problem.
I have been building and working on electric cars for decades. One question I keep hearing over & over is, “When will they make a better battery which will allow the car to go further”?
The answer is simple, Never.
I have been saying for years the missing infrastructure key is a way to power electric cars while they are driving. Just like the big electric trolleys of the down town corridors. Just like the electric slot cars when we were kids. We need to build into our highway infrastructure, in the carpool lanes, a way to power electric cars while they are driving. Drive for hours without stoping or needing to recharge.
With today’s battery technology we already have electric vehicles built by Tesla Motors which have the same range as a gasoline car. The difference is we only have a refueling infrastructure built into and embedded in our society that it has become hard to imagine anything else.
How do we get to the next phase of green transport? Infrastructure development.
